“Paddy is a committed wind energy professional with many years experience in the development and testing of wind turbine technology. As Senior Engineer and Test Site Manager at Myres Hill, Paddy has been at the forefront of wind turbine testing in recent years and has played a key role in the development of the test site and its capability to meet evolving industry requirements, including Micro-generation Certification Scheme testing. Paddy has an extensive knowledge and deep understanding of wind turbine technology, testing requirements, instrumentation and remote sensing techniques such as SoDAR and LiDAR. He is a pleasure to work with and has a unique approach to engineering problems that often yields innovative and pragmatic solutions”. . . by D.B. in 2015 now Mech. Eng. at SSE
“I have worked directly with Paddy on a number of projects.
As a Senior Consultant, Paddy has extensive expertise in renewable energy, with particular focus in the field of wind energy. Having been involved with the design and also the testing of wind turbines, he has experience in both the theoretical and practical aspects of their design, testing and operation including a range of instrumentation types, data acquisition, remote sensing technologies, condition monitoring and Micro-generation Certification Scheme testing. Paddy possesses considerable technical expertise, . . . and it is a pleasure to work with him.
As a senior professional, Paddy is always happy to use his experience to help and guide young and developing engineers whenever they require assistance or advice”. . .

“Paddy is an excellent all round wind turbine engineer with a sound appreciation of a wide range of engineering disciplines including: mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and control - something I think is pretty rare in today’s world. I had the pleasure of starting my career at the NEL and learning a great deal from Paddy. We worked together on the delivery of a large UK government funded research project investigating the use of LiDAR for wind turbine power performance and load measurements. Paddy’s experience in instrumentation, measurement campaign design, set-up and commissioning and data processing and analysis was invaluable in the success of this project. Paddy has managed the Myres Hill Wind Turbine Test Site for a number of years, where he has successfully delivered a range of Joint Industry Projects in wind resource measurement and analysis.
A great worker, friend and engineer who is always thinking outside the box to understand wind turbines and their interaction with the environment”. . . . . . by A.K. in 2015
